Hello and welcome to my space

My name is Carolyn Cullity and I’ve been helping people feel better with massage therapy since graduating from Cortiva School of Massage in 2010. My style of massage blends many techniques to achieve the best result. These techniques include Neuromuscular Trigger Point Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release, Sports Massage, Reflexology and Prenatal Massage. In addition to these modalities, cupping, hot stone, neck warmers, warm bamboo and lymphatic drainage are some of the options I use if I feel the benefits will enhance the outcome.

Each visit, we discuss how you’re feeling, issues you are having, possible reasons for the problem(s), changes since your last visit and your intended goals.

My goal is to help you regain your posture and balance to create homeostasis and help get you back to enjoying the pain free lifestyle you deserve.

I invite you to call and make an appointment today.

Benefits of Frequent Massage and Bodywork

There’s no denying the power of bodywork. Regardless of the reasons we seek it out, massage therapy can be a powerful ally in your healthcare regimen. Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress related, and perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. Massage can help lesson depression and anxiety, enhance a sense of well being and sleep quality, boost energy, increase circulation and blood flow, release endorphins (the body’s natural pain killer), break the cycle of pain and help to restore balance. Long term relief with massage therapy can help you relax and feel better while effectively addressing many elements of your pain and discomfort. The effects of massage are cumulative. Getting a massage can do you a world of good. And getting massage frequently can do even more. Budgeting time and money for bodywork at consistent intervals is truly an investment in your health.

Often, chronic muscle related injuries take a long time to heal, as scar tissue can build up over time and create adhesions in your muscles and connective tissue. It is important for you to have realistic expectations about your progress and recovery. It takes time to break a pain cycle that’s been in place for months or even years, so be patient and stick with it.

During massage, you remove clothing for the massage session. Removing clothing is based on your level of comfort. You will always be draped in a secure and safe manner, if you are ever uncomfortable, please let me know so we can adjust.

  Reflexology

Reflexology, an integrative health practice, maps a reflection of the body, predominately on the feet, hands and outer ears. It uses unique manual techniques to deliver pressure to neural pathways, assisting the body to function optimally.

Reflexology reduces stress and induces deep relaxation. When we don’t handle stress very well, the body’s defenses break down and we become more susceptable to illness and disease. Every part of the body is operated by messages carried back and forth along neural pathways. Stimulation of sensory nerve endings send information to the spinal cord and brain. The brain and spinal cord send instructions to the organs, glands and muscles.

The neural pathways are both living tissue and electrical channels, and can be impinged upon or polluted by many factors. When neural pathways are impaired, nerve function is impeded, messages are delivered slowly and unreliably, or not at all, and the processes operate at less than optimal levels.

The reflexologist stimulates more than 7000 nerves when touching the feet and encourages the opening and clearing of neural pathways.
